(MS) Legendary guitarist and vocalist Lita Ford joined Mark Strigl on SiriusXM's Ozzy's Boneyard (Channel 38) earlier this week for an in-depth conversation about her remarkable career and forthcoming studio album, The Bride Wore Black.

During the interview, Ford reflected on her early days with pioneering all-female rock band The Runaways, her friendship with the late Ronnie James Dio and Ace Frehley, and her experiences working with Ozzy Osbourne.

Ford also confirmed the title of her long-awaited new album, The Bride Wore Black, a concept record created in collaboration with guitarist and producer Gary Hoey.

Discussing the ambitious project, Ford told Strigl: "It is a concept album from start to finish. There is a lot of substance in this record. The introduction of the record is a narrator that... uh, we wrote this piece for him to speak and he introduces the album. He is the voice-over actor for Superman and Batman so he has this real intense voice and we wrote this amazing piece for him. He narrates the introduction and it goes right into the intro of the album. The album is 11 songs, 12 songs deep and each song plays off of each other on a Tommy, Welcome to My Nightmare, The Who, ya know Dark Side of the Moon, it is all of those things."

Ford went on to reveal that the album's title and central concept have been in her mind for more than four decades. "It has a lot of characters in it. It has the bride. The Bride Wore Black so this is the title I had since 1982 and I thought it was such an amazing title and I didn't know what I was going to do with it at the time so I sorta have been sitting on it since 1982. I know it is crazy but great titles are difficult to come by. So I wanted to create a whole storyboard around this bride and all the people in her life, Dracula being one of them, someone who drains you of your life and drains you of your blood but at the same time you like it. Dracula is seductive and we kinda like flirting with disaster."

The forthcoming release promises an interconnected musical narrative, drawing inspiration from classic concept albums while introducing a cast of characters built around the mysterious bride.

Ford's conversation with Strigl also explored some of the legendary musicians who have played important roles in her life and career, offering personal reflections on her relationships with Dio, Frehley, and Osbourne, along with memories of her groundbreaking years in The Runaways.

Lita Ford's new album, The Bride Wore Black, is forthcoming.
