Rival Sons' Scott Holiday Talks Future Plans On SiriusXM's Ozzy's Boneyard
(MS) Rival Sons guitarist Scott Holiday recently joined Mark Strigl live on SiriusXM's Ozzy's Boneyard (Ch. 38), the home of Hard & Heavy Classic Rock, for a wide-ranging conversation about his new solo project HOL1D4Y, Rival Sons' upcoming plans and his longtime connection to Black Sabbath.
Holiday's debut album under the HOL1D4Y moniker, Topology, arrives September 25, 2026, via Sacred Tongue Recordings/Thirty Tigers. The guitarist discussed the creation of the solo record as well as what lies ahead for Rival Sons.
During the interview, Strigl asked Holiday about the status of new Rival Sons music. "Oh yeah, man. We are in the process right now. We have done a little bit of stuff here and there, but not our normal, like, bury ourselves in the studio and get something done inside of a month, which we are going to do, planning like for mid-January. We have ideas. We have a record we want to make."
When Strigl suggested that the new Rival Sons album could potentially see a late 2027 release, Holiday responded:
"Something like that. Yeah, once the business gets a hold of it, it takes a minute, so hopefully, I would say late summer, hopefully the fall, something like that."
Holiday also spoke with Strigl about Rival Sons' upcoming touring plans, his love and appreciation for Black Sabbath, and the band's participation in the historic Back to the Beginning concert at Villa Park in Birmingham, England, on July 5, 2025. Rival Sons performed as part of the massive event celebrating Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath, a particularly meaningful appearance given the band's history touring with Sabbath.
