(SC) Riverside have announced will release Taste, the long-shelved follow-up to their 1992 debut One, on all streaming platforms for the first time on December 4 via Lost In Ohio. The first single, "Again," gets an advanced release.

Taste was produced and mixed by Paul Mahern (Afghan Whigs, Zero Boys). The album was recorded, mixed, mastered and photographed, and a release date was set. Then it was shelved. For a decade the songs went unheard, until the band pressed a small run of CDs in 2002 and sold them at shows. Fans have been passing those copies around ever since.

Riverside is brothers Keith and Glenn Kochanowicz, the late guitarist Kenny Jackson, and drummer Geoff Verne. One, produced by Steve Lau of The Ocean Blue, put "Waterfall" and "Cinnamon Eyes" on college radio and MTV's 120 Minutes. Lost in Ohio's vinyl reissue of One became the label's best-selling release, and the band has returned to the stage, playing regularly alongside The Ocean Blue.

Taste picks up where One left off: chiming, guitars, close harmonies and melodies in the tradition of The Smiths, The Railway Children and Aztec Camera, with a rougher edge thanks to Mahern's touch. It closes with "Indiana," a 13-minute piece that brings the album to a sprawling, glorious finish.
