Dylan Marlowe Announces Sophomore Album With 'In This Boat' Video
(SMN) Dylan Marlowe had exciting news to share earlier this week, announcing that his sophomore album, Dylan Marlowe, will be arriving on Nov. 6th and has shared a video for his new single "In This Boat".
With this album, Marlowe aimed to create a 13-track listening experience framed by captivating melodies and driving production, co-produced by Marlowe and Joe Fox. Growing up listening to everything from Sum 41 to Blink 182 to Eric Church, Marlowe's wide range of influences shine on this project, establishing his own unique lane in the genre, defined by a blend of pop punk and country music.
"I've had a lot of growth over this past year and I've felt this freedom to really dig into all the creative inspirations that I have, with a lot of that being from the pop punk world where the melodies are just so infectious," Marlowe shared. "There's a lot of storytelling on this record too, which is a big part of my creative process, but I also wanted people to be able to just put this album on and experience it in more of a lighthearted way. It's an album you put on when you take backroads home from church and want to enjoy the ride. I'm really excited for this one and hope y'all love it!"
Marlowe is giving fans an early window into the project, releasing track "In This Boat" today. Built around a clever hook, the upbeat song illustrates a couple spending time together out on the water, working through the ups and downs of their relationship. Marlowe also released a lighthearted music video to accompany the track.
"I wrote this song with Michael Tyler, Zach Abend, and Thomas Archer. I think Michael came in with the idea," Marlowe said. "It's funny because it's not rocking like the other stuff on the album but somehow, it fits cohesively. There's a lot of songs about breaking up, there's a lot of songs about hard times and calling it quits, but there's not a lot of songs about times getting hard and figuring it out which I think is cool."
In addition to releasing new music, Marlowe is on the road for fairs and festivals across the US this fall. In 2027, Marlowe will also be performing at fan-favorite festival Stagecoach for the first time, as announced earlier this week.
