(The GreenRoom) Jon Pardi celebrates 10 years of his landmark breakthrough album CALIFORNIA SUNRISE with CALIFORNIA SUNRISE (10th ANNIVERSARY EDITION) out June 12 via MCA, an expanded re-issue and limited-edition vinyl release featuring three new tracks from the vault.
The 3x-Platinum, chart-topping album helped redefine modern country when it arrived in 2016, reviving honky-tonk swagger during the height of the bro-country era and launching Pardi as one of the format's most distinct voices.
Alongside the album's original 12 songs, the celebratory edition includes the sunshine-soaked singalong "Drinkin' and Dancin'," the devoted country rocker "If I Had Another Heart" and the swaying flirtation of "How Did You Know," which fans can listen to now here. "Ten years ago I made a record that would unknowingly change my life," said Pardi. "Since then, it's been one hell of a ride-my family has grown, I've seen the world, and I'm out here living my dream. It's pretty damn cool to see how much people continue to embrace this project even all these years later. Thankful for the last ten and looking forward to the next."
CALIFORNIA SUNRISE spawned five Platinum-or-better singles, including the 7x-Platinum "Head Over Boots" and 6x-Platinum "Dirt On My Boots," whose mix of playful romance, hard twang and lived-in authenticity became Pardi's signature-and helped spark a neo-traditional movement that has since gone mainstream. Now, a decade later, Pardi revisits the rhinestoned rock and unmistakable country grit that made CALIFORNIA SUNRISE a modern classic.
Following in the bootsteps of his seminal hits, Pardi's latest Top 30 single, "Boots Off" from his fifth studio album HONKYTONK HOLLYWOOD, is a line-dancing love song driven by his trademark, party-starting strut. The track holds strong for a second week at No. One on Country Radio in the U.K., underscoring Pardi's growing international impact. The song reflects the project's balance of fearless creative instinct and his patented carefree-country charm.
